My Causes

I have always had a passion for protecting the endangered species of my native Namibia. As I embark on my non-retirement I plan to pursue support of two conservation projects - and a very special education project.

EHRA

Water is a sparse resource in a desert country like Namibia - getting water for survival is problematic.

It becomes even more problematic when people share their water resources with wild roaming elephant.

Elephant-Human Relations Aid (EHRA) Namibia has helped build peaceful relationships between free-roaming desert elephants and local communities in Namibia.

MYO

MYO is an afterschool program in my home town Swakopmund, NAMIBIA which endeavors to overcome the failings of the Namibian public education system.

I was fortunate to be educated in public schools in Namibia in my formative years.

I aim to give back by supporting MYO and similar projects in Southern Africa.

Save the Rhino Trust

I was very fortunate to be introduced to two of Namibia`s conservation pioneers Blythe Loutit and Garth Owen-Smith in 1982 shortly after returning from my studies in South Africa. Blythe and Garth have both passed away since but their great work to save the unique desert-adapted black rhino continues.
